Chains that held me down so long
Tied down by society's judgment
Always under scrutinizing eyes
Told how to act and what to say
They don't know how I feel inside
To be told I cannot be myself
And that it's a sin against humanity
If I ever try to be myself
Do you see the depths of these scars
The ones your words left on me
Trying to make me see that

Restrain me any longer after being
Rusted from all the tears I've cried
